Web glove

As a student designer committed to circular fashion, I created this handcrafted glove using entirely waste materials to explore how discarded resources can be transformed into something both functional and beautiful. I used supermarket plastic nets often tossed after carrying produce as the base structure, repurposing this overlooked plastic waste into a flexible framework. Onto this, I manually tufted rose-like textures using scrap yarn, blending technique, and texture to evoke softness and nature. The glove also incorporates woven strips of white waste fabric, which, despite its delicate appearance, surprisingly retains warmth, heating the fingers, palm, and wrist to the elbow. This project was more than just an experiment in aesthetics it was a magical, hands-on realization that the future can be built from waste. For me, this glove is a small but powerful reassurance that sustainability and beauty are not opposites. Waste, when reimagined, becomes a meaningful material with endless potential.
